At Shabana Jacobson Jewellery, each piece is handmade with the upmost care. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship, originality and creating beautiful wearable hand made pieces.
HANDMADE:
Each of our pieces are handmade and items will vary to the photographs on our site slightly. We endeavour to be as consistent as possible but this is almost impossible with handmade items and makes your piece unique.
JEWELLERY CARE:
All items are solid 925 sterling silver or 18k gold-filled on sterling silver. 925 sterling is nickel-free.
STERLING SILVER CARE & CLEANING
Silver will naturally oxidise but is easily cleaned. To slow tarnishing, store your jewellery in a zip-lock, airtight bag.
TO CLEAN:
• Use a silver cloth on polished silver and rub gently.
• For matt/brushed silver, use an old toothbrush and Jiff or toothpaste to gently scrub.
GOLD FILLED JEWELLERY & SURFACE TREATMENTS (OXIDISED JEWELLERY)
Gold filling and oxidising are surface treatments and will fade over time.
• Rings wear fastest but will always remain a gold colour.
• Earrings and necklaces wear slower and stay a darker gold.
• Gold items will require occasional cleaning – follow the silver cleaning instructions above.
• Do not clean oxidised items – they are meant to stay blackened. Rubbing or polishing will remove the oxidisation. This effect naturally fades with wear, especially on rings, but tends to last much longer on earrings and necklaces.
STORAGE:
• Dry and Airtight: Store your jewellery in a dry, airtight container to prevent moisture from tarnishing the metal.
• Soft Pouch or Box: Keep your jewellery in a soft pouch or jewellery box to avoid scratches and tangles.
• Protect from Humidity: Store your jewellery in a low humidity environment to minimise the risk of tarnish.
FAULTY PIECES:
If on the rare occasion you receive a faulty piece due to a manufacturing defect we will happily offer an exchange or store credit provided you return it in its original packaging, unworn and undamaged.
If an item breaks with 3 months from normal wear and tear we will happily repair or replace the item. We only send out the replacement item once we receive the faulty item.
CHANGE OF MIND:
We offer exchange or store credit for change of mind items provided you return it in its original packaging, unworn and undamaged. If your piece does show signs of wear we will not exchange or offer store credit. Postage costs are the responsibility of the customer in this circumstance.
Store credits and exchanges are only offered with original receipt within 90 days from the date of purchase. We only send out the replacement item or store credit once we receive the faulty item
The goods are your responsibility until they reach our studio. Please ensure you pack the return safely to prevent any damage to the item.
GOLD FILLED/OXIDISED AND COLOURED ITEMS:
Gold filled and oxidised silver is a surface treatment and will wear over time. Please be aware of this when purchasing an oxidised or gold filled piece as we do not offer refunds or exchanges on these items unless faulty. Rings wear quicker than earrings and necklaces.
Colours and surface treatments will vary.
